Hello!

My name is Ashley B. Cook. I have been in the school system for 21 years. I am a graduate of Man High School, and I have a Masters Degree from Marshall University in Counseling. I live in Oceana with my husband Nick and two daughters, Lindsey and Taylor. Nick is the physical education teacher at Westside High School.

I am an itinerant school counselor, which means I split my time between two schools. I am at Berlin McKinney Elementary and Oceana Middle School . Go Tribe!

As a school counselor, I am an advocate for your child, and I will work closely with both you and the school to ensure that your child is successful both academically and emotionally. Please, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Individual Counseling: I work with students individually for a number of reasons a student may present, such as difficulty in the classroom/playground/bus, conflict resolution, difficulty coping at school, etc. Referrals for students to meet with me can be made by classroom teachers or other school staff, by parents, or through students' self-referrals.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child. My overall goal is to help the students of Berlin McKinney develop more positive skills that will enable them to become self-directed learners, clear and effective communicators, collaborative workers, creative problem-solvers, and responsible citizens...now, and in the future.
